Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, his nearest rival, received 71,996 votes, or 35.52% of the total valid votes, to take second place.
Less than one percent was made by the other two candidates. They are Francis Addai-Nimoh and Owusu Afriyie Akoto.
As the fourth flagbearer in party history, Bawumia has officially succeeded Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as leader of the party. The NPP will be led by him in the general elections of 2024.
