The reportedly incensed fans advised Partey to decline the invitation and focus on improving his fitness instead because he had recently recovered from an injury.

Across two legs, the Black Stars will play Angola. Prior to the second leg on March 27, 2023, they will host the Black Antelopes on March 23, 2023.

The Black Stars and Angola are equal for first place in Group E with four points each.

Ghana started their campaign by defeating Madagascar 3-0 before drawing 1-1 with the Central African Republic.

In contrast to Ghana, Angola won their second match against the Central African Republic and drew with Madagascar.
