Other football stars, including Gyan, Essien, and Ronaldo, lose their Twitter legacy blue ticks

The social media platform’s users will now pay $8 per month for the badge, while businesses may have to spend up to $1,000 to have all of their personnel confirmed.

“We are eliminating historical confirmed checkmarks starting on April 20. People can join up for Twitter Blue to keep their Twitter accounts verified, according to a Twitter statement.

On Thursday, April 20, 2023, the new verification procedure went into effect, costing many football players and famous people their checkmarks.

Also stripped of their verified badges are former US President Donald Trump, billionaire Bill Gates, and reality TV star Kim Kardashian.
