The comment has, however, angered the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In response to the situation, they urged the IGP to detain Mr. Acheampong.
They claimed that this is because his comment endangers democracy.
The NPP is in agreement with the Abetifi MP’s statement that the current administration will never cede power to the NDC, according to the party’s national organizer.
In an interview with JoyFM’s Super Morning Show on Monday, Henry Nana Boakye hailed the sentiments as favorable. “Sure, the NPP supports it. He was entirely supportive, and we [NPP] support it,” he declared.
He claimed that the agriculture minister made the remark in light of the nation’s economic recovery, specifically mentioning the stabilization of the cedi and the decline in fuel costs. The NPP is convinced that as a result of these developments, “we are not going to hand over power to them.”
