This is everything we currently know about the attack that occurred in the Russian capital on Friday:
Gunmen opened fire at a rock event at Crocus City Hall in a Moscow suburb on Friday evening local time, resulting in at least 93 deaths and over 140 injuries, according to Russian intelligence.
President Vladimir Putin was informed this morning by Russia’s security director that four of the eleven suspects detained were directly involved in the incident.
After the Islamic State organization claimed responsibility for the attack, the US now believes there is a chance that one of its affiliates was responsible.
Additionally, the White House claims that earlier this month, it alerted Russia to the possibility of an attack on “large gatherings” in Moscow. Russia has not offered a statement.
Russia and Ukraine are at war right now, and Ukraine has denied any involvement.
According to the Kremlin, Putin has been informed about what transpired. He hasn’t addressed the country personally, but a deputy claims that he has wished the injured parties a quick recovery.
Events have been postponed, and security has increased around Russia while the national guard looks for the attackers and sends investigators to the scene.
