As she described her ordeal, she related a phone call she had received warning her to watch out for her son, as there were plans to harm him.

She claimed that the criticism she received from a variety of angles had damaged her to the point that she no longer wanted to be in the mainstream media in order to prevent encounters with such people.

Speaking in a TV3 interview that GhanaWeb was able to see, Nana Yaa Brefo recalled the abuse she received after confronting McBrown.

I guess I needed to unwind after McBrown’s incident. Not stopping altogether, but fading into the background, was my goal. because you could be struck directly by someone. It’s not work-related. I don’t mind if it has to do with the job. However, if it gets personal, you have family and children.

They occasionally aim to harm your family, which is why they attack you. I received a call from someone alerting me to the fact that there are individuals plotting to harm my son when he goes to school. “Well, I’ve been asked to do this to you, but I’m telling you because I don’t want to do it,” said a different caller to me at another time. “It’s frightening,” she recalled.
