Drive to Inspire-Africa (DTI-A) founder and managing partner of Africa Legal Associates (ALA), Nana Adjoa Hackman, stated that DTI-A is prepared to have a positive influence on the next generation with the support of its funders and partners.
The main goal of the non-governmental organization DTI-A is to inspire and challenge young people, particularly girls, to realize their inherent potential.
Speaking to guests at DTI-A’s formal launch and fundraising event in Accra, Ms. Hackman explained that the goal is to use education and mentoring, two transforming forces, to create a generation of self-assured and capable leaders on the African continent.
We live by the maxim that society needs to prepare young people not just for a better future but also for them to make a better future for themselves.
Through our programs—which include career counseling, presentations on character development and personal growth, teenage health education, and mentoring for girls—we want to accomplish this goal, according to Ms. Hackman.
Initiative for Sponsorship
Regarding DTI-A’s effort to finance education, Nana Adjoa mentioned that the scholarship program will start “in a few months” and “with the kind help” of DTI-A partners and sponsors.
“The plan is to create a model that functions in the three areas we presently service (Greater Accra, Eastern, and Central) and then expand to encompass the entirety of Ghana while creating a franchise structure to implement that model in other African nations,” the spokesperson stated.
Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, vice chancellor of the University of Ghana (UG) and a member of the DTI-A Advisory Council, praised Nana Adjoa Hackman for taking Drive to Inspire-Africa’s goal beyond Ghana and establishing it as a continental priority.
