The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has stepped up its enforcement and intelligence activities throughout the Western Regional Command.

Following a successful operation, the Command was able to apprehend 66 Ivorian migrants who were involved in cybercrime at a hideout in the Anaji Hills enclave near Takoradi in the Western Region.

Ins. Moses Manford Akakpo, the Regional Command’s Public Affairs Officer, signed a statement stating that at approximately 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Chief Supt. Elijah Narh, the officer in charge of the Intelligence Unit, led a group of officers from the Regional Command Headquarters to initiate a vigorous 24-hour operation that culminated in the arrest of the Ivorian nationals.

According to the statement, the suspects, who are between the ages of 19 and 54 and consist of 45 men and 21 women, were enlisted to commit cybercrimes and other alleged unlawful operations from locations in Cote d’Ivoire, including Tanda, Agnibilekro, Bondougkou, Nianda, Aboisso, and Abidjan.
