Dr. Christopher Ampadu, Executive Director of the Africa Centre for the Study of Worldviews and Wholistic Development of Societies, believes that changing mindsets is the best way to improve Ghana rather than enforcing new political regimes.
He asserts that negative attitudes and certain ideas that influence Ghanaians’ thoughts and behaviors are the main causes of the country’s social status remaining unchanged.
Speaking to the media at the new Think Tank’s Accra opening, Dr. Ampadu suggested that “greediness” is the root of Ghana’s problem, which is an issue facing all of Africa.
He said, “A lot of people are so greedy and think of their own selfish ends. They take bribes and share the money as if they don’t get paid.”
Noting that the continent continues to be impoverished despite having an abundance of resources, he said that it is necessary to take into account the fallacies, ironies, and contradictions in the transformative growth of Ghana and Africa overall.
“Churches are sprouting up all over our towns and cities. Nevertheless, the most corrupt areas of the continent are found here. How ironic!
