On March 1, 2024, the billboards—which were positioned in key areas like Kata Hostel, Nii Boye Town, and Achimota—were vandalized. The damage was severe and was believed to be worth thousands of Ghana cedis.

Although the cause of the devastation is yet unknown, evidence indicates that it was a planned and targeted attack.

Members of the ruling NPP have accused incumbent MP Theresa Awuni and other opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) members of arranging the incident. Nonetheless, there isn’t any concrete proof connecting the devastation to a certain political party or person.

The NPP’s constituency organizer in Okaikwei North, Kwabena Amoako, denounced the event and reported it to the police for further examination.
