Ampadu: Ghana’s Devt Is Not Changing Regime

“When we visit Ghana, a nation where over 70% of people identify as Christian and where churches are growing everywhere, what do we see? “There is widespread corruption,” Dr. Ampadu said.

He clarified that the goal of his organization’s founding was to assist Africa in recognizing and resolving the many fallacies, ironies, and contradictions that had arisen throughout its history.

The ironies and contradictions, he said, “should not just be assumed and accepted as our label and religiously say Amen to it as God’s intentions and purposes for Africa.” For this reason, the center would be research-oriented.

He said that in order to properly situate Africa’s problems from the roots to the fruits—which are the consequences that have diverted Africa from its development—students of development should undertake holistic and thorough scientific research, taking into account belief systems, culture, values, attitudes, and behaviors that lead to the fruits.

“It is not acceptable for us to possess PhDs and be well-versed in nearly every field, but to live like destitute beggars in the midst of affluence, focusing solely on our own interests and hoping to survive only by traveling to distant places,” he said.
