He states that new smart metres calibrated to charge a lower tariff per kilowatt hour for power consumed during off-peak hours will be advantageous to businesses that enrol in the 24-hour economy.
According to him, companies that follow the 24-hour economy policy will also earn additional tax breaks to lower operating costs and boost their competitiveness.
