Undersea cable repairs are being carried out by two repair vessels.

The National Communications Authority (NCA) reported on March 14, 2024, that two repair vessels had been dispatched in an attempt to restore the lost data services caused by damaged submarine cables.

A joint repair vessel, MainOne, WACS, and ACE, was commissioned as a result of their cooperative efforts. It sailed from London, UK, on March 24, 2024. By April 8, 2024, it is expected to arrive at its original point of contact.

The NCA has issued a warning, stating that these are only estimates that could alter in response to different circumstances that arise throughout the restoration process.

The damage to the submarine cables has generated a disruption that has posed serious issues for internet service providers and telecommunications companies, affecting individuals, businesses, and educational institutions that depend on digital connectivity.
