The US Coast Guard has started a recovery effort for the missing individuals and has halted its search and rescue operation.
Now, attention is shifting to the inquiry into what went wrong, with a group of specialists in transportation safety aiming to board the affected ship and retrieve its data recorder.
The ship’s certificates for structural integrity and equipment functionality were in effect at the time of the event, according to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, where the Dali was registered.
The ship was also said to have passed two independent state inspections by foreign ports in June and September of 2023.
Dali’s management company, Synergy Marine Group, stated that there were two US harbor pilots and an all-Indian crew of 22 people on board; however, there were no reports of any injuries.
“Fully cooperating” with federal agencies was the addition.
