The government has started building 100 homes for those impacted by the Akosombo Dam spill, according to Minister of Works and Housing Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

The Minister revealed that on Monday, March 25, 2024, sod was cut for the first 100 dwellings in the Volta Region’s Central and North Tongu Districts.

He informed MAA ADOA ADEPA on FM that in the upcoming weeks, representatives from the Ministry’s Housing Department, together with a few contractors and consultants, will be stopping by the site to conduct additional work.

In addition, Oppong Nkrumah emphasized the amount of work that must be done before all impacted individuals are appropriately relocated.
