He demonstrated his dependable leadership and dedication to public service in 2009 when President Mills selected him as Minister for Information. Furthermore, he enhanced Ghana’s diplomatic ties by acting as Ghana’s ambassador to Cuba under the administration of former President John Mahama.
But there were difficulties along the way for him in politics. He lost to independent Robert N. Doameng Mosore in the election that followed his loss in his bid to hold the Talensi seat.
In 2016, Mr. Tia made the decision to withdraw from running for legislative office, indicating a change in his political goals.
