The regular automatic Taco’s fuel efficiency ranges from 19 to 21 mpg in the city, from 23 to 26 mpg on the highway, and from 21 to 23 mpg combined, depending on the drivetrain and trim level. There’s little use in comparing the stickshift and hybrid because the stickshift is somewhat worse and the hybrid doesn’t come with a stick.
Toyota claims that the hybrid TRD Pro and Trail Hunter trucks will get 22 mpg in the city, 24 mpg on interstate, and 23 mpg overall. Considering the wider tires and frontal area, this doesn’t seem bad.
