According to Mr. Abraham Amaliba, Director of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is purportedly attacking Niger by utilizing Ghana, the location of its meetings, in response to the political upheaval in the country.
He asserts that because Ghana is a symbol of African emancipation, gatherings designed for purposes other than peacemaking should not take place here.
He clarified that the purpose of these gatherings, which had occasionally taken place in Ghana, was to promote peace rather than violence.
They continue to assemble and desecrate the nation that served as a springboard for the liberation of other nations. We do not use Ghana to attack our sister countries; rather, Ghana is the motherland of the liberation movement. We went to several nations and made peace there when we used Ghana as a meeting location, Mr. Amaliba stated.
“We go and bring peace with our neighboring countries and our brothers and sisters whenever we use Ghana as a platform.” He underlined, “We don’t utilize Ghana to go kill our brothers and sisters.
The NDC member called President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo a “scar on the conscience of Ghanaians” for permitting such a meeting to take place in the nation.
