According to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), during the first quarter of 2024, it sent out over 100 alerts regarding power disruptions.

Most of these notifications were sent out in order to allow necessary repairs on the transmission infrastructure owned by the corporation.

This announcement came about as a result of a March 18 request for evidence of ECG’s public notices of power outages from January 1, 2024, to the current day, submitted by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) to the company.

Concerns over ongoing blackouts in different parts of the nation are growing, and many citizens have demanded a formal load-shedding schedule in order to facilitate better planning.
