The event, which transpired while attempting to carry out a court order for the preservation of a contested vehicle, has prompted legal action and aroused concerns about the behavior of both sides.

As a subpoenaed witness, Detective Sergeant Thompson Ayitey, an investigator with the Greater Accra Regional CID, provided insight into the circumstances behind Adablah’s arrest.

Ayitey claims that Adablah violently attacked and impeded police officers from carrying out the directive. In her testimony, Ayitey stated, “I didn’t start the execution order.

Instead, on the aforementioned date, I was the night investigator for the Regional Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), which detained and brought Deborah Seyram Adablah for both assaulting and hindering police officers from carrying out orders.”

Deborah Adablah and banker Ernest Kwasi Nimako were embroiled in legal battles at the time of Adablah’s conduct; Adablah had previously had her case against Nimako dismissed for sexual harassment.

Lawyer Mohammed Atta, who was Adablah’s counsel during cross-examination, questioned the start of the execution order.
