In an effort to avert potential conflicts between competing students, police were ordered to patrol the Bekwai SDA Senior High School (SHS) in the Ashanti Region on Saturday.

This came about as a result of the competing students—a mix of day students and boarders—fighting angrily on Friday night, which sadly left some of the pupils hurt.

A day student and a boarding student reportedly got into an argument on Friday afternoon over a misunderstanding, which resulted in a fight, although they were soon separated.

Later on Friday night, there were reports that some students had brought several locals to the school with them with the intention of attacking the boarding students with violence. Some of the students were injured in the ensuing skirmishes.
