The Dawleys have shared their experience at numerous conferences and gatherings over the past two years, including the World Health Day Parents’ Summit hosted by the Archewell Foundation. They are also a part of a network of families connected to a nonprofit that was started by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The group helps parents who have lost loved ones tragically as a result of their child’s usage of social media by offering services and counseling.
Donna Dawley stated, “We are very appreciative that other families are also speaking out about this.” It resembles having a large family. We always text one another to check on one another and offer support if someone is having a rough day.
However, she acknowledged that it still aches to learn about new incidents in which kids have perished due to the risks connected to social media.
“Even though I know we can’t do everything, we feel like we haven’t done enough because we have been talking about it so much,” she remarked. “More heartbroken parents wouldn’t exist if social media corporations simply changed these algorithms.”
