Valerie Owusu and Emmanuel Addae were found guilty on March 22, over three years after Owusu’s son King was discovered dead in a Brentwood, New York, house, according to a report that was reported by DGN Online.
District Attorney Raymond Tierney stated in a press statement, “This little boy was beaten and suffered for days at the hands of these defendants, one of whom was his own mother, until he, unfortunately, succumbed to his severe and extensive injuries.”
“The defendants have been held accountable for this horrific crime,” the statement said, praising the jury’s careful consideration of the evidence, the Suffolk County Police Department’s thorough investigation, and the prosecutors’ unwavering pursuit of justice in this case.
