We had 2 robberies and were unable to return home following the sing-a-thon. Asantewaa divulges

In an interview with GhOne TV, she disclosed this, recalling the tremendous trauma the events had caused her, which may have interfered with her attempts to surpass the Guinness World Record.

“On Monday, prior to the real attempt, burglars attacked our home, but they were unable to gain entry. Then, on Wednesday, when we returned home, they had broken into our house; however, Afua Asantewaa recalls, “We are unsure of how they got in.”

Although the first attempt at robbery was unsuccessful, the second event is noteworthy because, although Afua Asantewaa and her husband were not home, the bandit(s) managed to enter their house and took nothing of value.

“They simply dispersed everything we had; they didn’t steal any cash or valuables—the only things they took were my husband’s deodorant and spray. Money and laptops were present, but they were not taken. They simply came to cause chaos,” she continued.

She continued to tell how she and her husband were terrified following the two break-ins and had to take refuge in a motel even after the sing-a-thon.

She talked about how she could have failed in her attempt to break the Guinness World Record due to the unexplained robbery episodes and other conditions, but she persevered.

“Those who didn’t know what was going on with me would have assumed that I was already stressed out if they had seen me on Thursday. We spent Wednesday night in the living room instead of our bedroom because we were unable to sleep there. Our windows and doors were unbroken, so we were terrified even though we had no idea how the intruder entered our room.

She is awaiting confirmation from the Guinness World Record for having been able to sing for 126 hours and 52 minutes in spite of all the interruptions. Indian singer Sunil Waghmare now holds the record, having performed for 105 hours in March 2012.
