His legacy will continue to serve as motivation for the Black Stars, the football community, and the youth of Ghana in general. Some of the tribute stated, “We pray that our brother, our son, and our Black Star finds the best place with the Lord.

Following an earthquake that rocked Turkey on February 6, 2023, Christian Atsu passed away in February when his lifeless body was discovered in the ruins of his collapsed flat in Hatay.

The former Ghanaian international played at the World Cup during his seven years of international service and assisted Ghana in finishing second at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, where he was named the best player.

He made 65 appearances and scored 10 goals.
