Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a potential flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party, has disclosed an alleged plot to undermine his candidacy by Majority Chief Whip in Parliament Frank Annoh Dompreh.
The whip is allegedly challenging the rationale behind some party chairmen’s support for Kennedy Agyapong since he is unqualified to serve as president, according to the MP for Assin Central.
The majority whip in parliament, Annoh Dompreh, “has the effrontery to call chairmen to tell them that you are supporting Kennedy Agyapong, he is not a presidential material,” he claimed.
However, Kennedy Agyapong questioned the chief whip’s justification for labeling him as unpresidential while addressing NPP delegates in the Ashanti Region.
Kennedy Agyapong claimed he was a superior candidate and that, if elected flagbearer and then president, his track record as a successful businessman would demonstrate his ability to guide Ghana through progress.
He emphasized that he is the only candidate who has kept the party’s delegates’ interests in mind and who will devote himself to their wellbeing rather than buying his way to victory.
