Ghanaian highlife sensation Bisa Kdei says he thinks some promoters’ unfavorable views toward the business have hindered the growth of Ghanaian music, especially on the international scene.
According to Bisa Kdei, it is wrong to downplay the caliber of Ghanaian music while disregarding the musicians’ commitment to perfecting their craft.
Ghana did not completely take advantage of the many chances that the Year of Return project offered to promote its music, according to Bisa Kdei.
“I think we didn’t use them to their full potential during the most recent Year of Return events. There have been cases where foreign guests who came to hear Ghanaian music were instead exposed to other genres,” he said.
