The goal of this new policy is to eliminate ghost identities from government payrolls, a problem that has plagued previous administrations.

As a result, the CAGD and the National Identification Authority (NIA) have discussed starting a special registration process for people who haven’t yet received their Ghana Cards.

The conversation between the NIA and the CAGD took place on October 11, 2023, at a meeting that was centred around the suggested dates for the registration process.

An important piece of advice has been sent by CAGD to its employees and members, asking them to apply for Ghana Cards at any of the 292 NIA offices around the country. The CAGD has taken a firm stand on guaranteeing compliance, emphasising the importance of government employees.
