Nerquaye-Tetteh was found guilty of professional misconduct under Rule 2(2) of the Legal Profession (Professional Conduct and Etiquette) Rules, 1969 (L.I. 613), by the Disciplinary Committee of the GLC, the regulating body that oversees the legal profession.

In 2011, while defending the state against a lawsuit by Woyome, Nerquaye-Tetteh arranged for the direct transfer of GH¢400,000 from Woyome to his wife’s bank account, according to a notification dated January 31, 2024, given by the GLC.

According to the GLC, Nerquaye-Tetteh was unable to offer a plausible justification for this transfer.

The GLC went on to say that Nerquaye-Tetteh’s conduct had damaged “the high standing and dignity of the legal profession.”
