Former Ghanaian striker Prince Tagoe has been detained by police after being accused of scamming George Boateng, the assistant coach of the Black Stars, of $40,000.
Prince Tagoe remanded in custody for allegedly defrauding George Boateng of $40,000
Despite entering a not guilty plea, the 36-year-old was remanded on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 by an Accra Circuit Court.
Joy Sports said that Tagoe has been accused of scamming Boateng under false pretences.
According to the case brief, Tagoe persuaded Boateng to spend $40,000 to import a 4×4 Lexus into Ghana so that he could purchase it.
On January 8, 2021, the aforementioned sum was paid to Tagoe, but the former Hearts of Oak forward did not deliver the car.
