Kwame A Plus has been under fire from Emil Wood, also known as Nana Tonardo, for questioning the court’s decision that resulted in some UTV panellists, including himself, being fined GHC65,000 each.
On December 1, 2022, the court fined Nana Ama Mcbrown, presenter of UTV’s United Showbiz, and some panellists, including Kwame A Plus and Mr. Logic, GHC65,000 apiece in response to a defamation lawsuit brought by Chairman Wontumi, the NPP’s Ashanti Regional Chairman.
Afia Schwarzenegger, who is accused of encouraging and championing the insults directed against Chairman Wontumi, has also been given a 10-day jail sentence.
Kwame A Plus, in contrast, believes that they were not given a fair hearing by the court.
Following the ruling, a disgruntled Kwame A Plus expressed his concerns on the United Showbiz, calling the amount they were ordered to pay among other things outrageous.
However, Nana Tonardo has criticised A Plus on social media for questioning the court’s decision.
Nana Tonardo warned A Plus sternly about what he called the pervasive national habit of ignoring seniors, calling the latter a rude young kid.
