I was cautioned Akufo-Addo govt was ‘malignant’ and will ‘come after’ me assuming I censure them – Botchwey

Previous Finance Minister, Kwesi Botchwey has said he was prompted by certain individuals near him against censuring the Akufo-Addo government or chance bringing about their malice.

Talking at the 65th Independence Day Lecture held at the Economics Department of the University of Ghana, Legon, on Monday, March 7, 2022. Prof Botchwey said he compared the admonition against President Nana Akufo-Addo’s ‘Be residents and not onlookers’ charge and contemplated whether his counsels were lost on that.

“‘These individuals are malevolent and they’ll come after you on the off chance that you scrutinize them’, they said,” Prof Botchwey told his crowd, adding: “I was very frightened and contemplated whether this was genuinely intelligent of the public opinion presently.”
