Twitter Africa HQ employees are threatening to sue the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, over their termination.
After Elon Musk purchased Twitter, he laid off many of the company’s employees, including several in Ghana.
They have since accused Twitter of “deliberately and carelessly flouting the laws of Ghana” and of attempting to “silence and intimidate” them following their dismissal from Twitter’s Africa headquarters.
To ensure they receive the same severance package as other Twitter employees and protections under Ghanaian law, the team has retained legal counsel and sent a letter to the business.
According to CNN’s reporting, they also filed a petition with the Ghanaian government demanding that Twitter “adhere to the laws of Ghana on redundancy and grant the employees a fair and just negotiation and redundancy pay.”
